Eliot Ness was a real G-Man; he was more than a character portrayed by Robert Stack in the 50's TV show "The Untouchables" or the 80's movie of the same name featuring Kevin Costner. Eliot Ness was an agent of the U.S. Treasury Department, Bureau of Prohibition, the predecessor agency to what is now the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives under the direction of the Department of Justice.
Portrayed here is a photographic copy of Ness' actual Government credential issued to him and carried by him during his career. This photo was made during the 1980's in a photo lab using a large format 4x5 camera. The master negative has been scanned in high-resolution and is now printed from that digital file.
The two-part credential is shown as if the leather encased credential were open for display by an agent. The actual image is a bit larger than 8"x10" and when matted it is approximately 11"x13". The product you will receive is much clearer and legible than the displayed sample.
This item is historic in nature, printed, matted and framed on a custom basis. It can be ordered by emailing or calling Photos and Phrames. The shipped and ready to hang price is $126.00
